For my final collection ...

This is an illustration, of one of my looks I will be creating for my end of year show. I copied a Nuno Da Costa fashion figure, and altered it to be wearing my garments. I created this image using watercolour, fine liners, coloured pencils, gel pens and photoshop.

A Real Woman ...

Agent Provocateur artist Jacques le Trompe, helped launch Agent Provocateur's second limited edition of STRIP. Painting his nude muse in the Oxford Street window of Selfridges in London.

I love the creativity in the Agent Provocateur window displays. I think they are imaginative and  eye catching. They have managed to turn everyday activities into something sexy and seductive. I think their window displays help them appeal to a broader market.

Spring is here, and my fashion show is close ......

Spring is here, and my fashion show is coming up. In the first year of the course, I only had to make one outfit. When I began researching into a theme, I looked at world culture. I later started focusing on Oriental culture, which led to my final design and outcome.
This is my final year ! I have to create 4 looks for the fashion show this year. My theme is Art Nouveau, and I am currently working on completing my toiles. I still haven't bought my fabric, but have a clear image of what I want and need in my head. I'm so excited about completing my collection and taking part in the fashion show.

Double Take ... By Abilouise

Ok, so I have already posted this illustration...
But I was asked where I'd taken my original image from...
I absolutely loved this Terry Richardson Vogue spread. I can't remember which issue it was printed in, but it's quite a few years old now. This is one of my all time favourite fashion photos, I adore the theatrical feel to the shoot. I wanted to produce an illustration using the image, keeping all the key components in the photo, but at the same time create something true to my style of work; I think I've managed to achieve this.

John Galliano's final collection at Christian Dior.

PFW.

I really love the Christian Dior Autumn/Winter 2011-12. I like the layers of clothing in the looks and the mixture of texture's, I think this combination creates a really striking collection of garments. I always adore the lace used within the Dior collection, because of it's intricate and delicate detail, this collection has not failed, by including more beautifully designed lace....
When the Autumn/Winter collection had finished and Galliano would normally appear wearing one of his iconic, extravagant outfits; a group of Dior workers appreared on the catwalk dressed in white coats.
The shows' audience gave the workers a standing ovation....
I was really surprised to hear the reasons behind the show ending in this way. John Galliano had been sacked by Dior for making racist remarks. I was horrified, when later in the week I heard that footage had been released of another incident in which he was shown telling two women in a cafe: "I love Hitler."
I have always admired John Galliano, he has been one of my biggest inspirations and fashion Hero's.
His behaviour recently has been quite hard for me to believe and I think it is a real shame he has shown unpleasant characterisitics, that alot of people will think are disgraceful.
I have lost all respect for Galliano.
